American tenor Thomas Walters’ voice has been described as “a well-rounded mix of warmth, beauty and dramaticism, which reminds me of the bel canto tenors of the golden age.” He's equally comfortable with the repertoires of Mozart, Bel Canto, and modern composers and has a genial manner with his colleagues.

Tom was born in East Meadow, New York, raised in Summit, New Jersey and studied classical vocal performance at New Jersey City University. After performing in numerous operas and scenes programs including The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Tom Bo's modern opera Shadows of the City, he received his Bachelors in spring 2017. He has since studied privately under the tutelage of American tenor Mark Nicolson and the accomplished accompanist and stylistic coach Craig Ketter.

In 2022 Tom performed the title role of Ulisse in Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria with New York City's Dell’arte Opera Ensemble, in 2021 he performed the tenor lead in OperAvant’s production of Timothy L. Miller's The Bird Lady as Marcus, and in 2020 he performed in City Lyric Opera’s production of Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera as Crookfinger Jake and was contracted to perform in Garden State Opera’s pandemic-postponed production of Francesco Santelli's The Silk City.

He has several awards under his belt, including first place it the New Jersey National Association of Teachers of Singing University Senior Men division and several American Bel Canto Association grants.

“Tenor Thomas Walters made an impressive debut with Dell'Arte Opera as Ulysse in Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria. His warm, honey tones were a thrill to listen to, matched with his phrasing made a cohesive and complete realization of the role. In this paced-out performance, Tom’s acting and well-versed diction were highlights of the production.” - David Santiago, Metropolitan Magazine
